Methodology

StockSignal tracks publicly published videos from a curated list of finance YouTube channels and records the specific stock calls made in each video, along with the action the creator recommends and a timestamp linking directly to that moment in the video.

A recommendation requires the creator to actually tell viewers what to do — merely being bullish or bearish about where a stock's price is headed, without any accompanying buy/hold/sell advice, is market commentary and is not recorded as a recommendation.

Action definitions

• Buy — the creator recommends buying, adding to a position, or calls the stock undervalued/worth owning.
• Hold — the creator recommends holding an existing position without adding to or exiting it.
• Sell — the creator recommends selling, exiting, avoiding, or calls the stock overvalued/not worth owning.

Separately, when a creator explicitly discloses buying or selling a stock themselves (not just recommending it to viewers), that's recorded as a confirmed transaction — shown as "Bought" or "Sold" alongside the recommendation, and in the "Owned in portfolio" section on each stock's page.

Ranking

The homepage ranks stocks by the number of buy recommendations within a trailing window (24 hours, 7, 30, 90, or 365 days, selectable on the homepage). If the same creator recommends the same stock more than once, only their most recent call counts. This is a measure of creator attention and sentiment, not a prediction of future performance.

Limitations

StockSignal aggregates opinions verbatim from third-party creators. It does not verify the accuracy of any claim made in a video, and inclusion of a channel does not imply endorsement. See our About page and footer disclaimer for more.
